Off the shoulder

Top: Lulu's (Jumpsuit version here, similar here) || Jeans: American Eagle (On sale! Shop the black pair I wore the other day here) || Booties: Target (Currently by one get one 50% off! They also come in black and cognac!) || Purse: Target || Sunglasses: Ray-Ban || Hat: Target || Necklace:Three Jane || Rings:Dogeared

Let me start by saying that off the shoulder tops are not my thing. Or at least they weren't until I found this pin on Pinterest and decided I needed it. But despite my best efforts and crazy good Googling skills, I came up empty handed. Until one day when I was casually browsing Lulu's and found the same. exact top. Umm, I don't know about you guys, but this never happens to me. Like, ever.

It definitely has a summer vibe to it, but I really wanted to make it work for this transitional time of year. I loved the way the hat looked with it so I grabbed the one I've been obsessing over, swapped out the shorts for my favorite pair of ripped skinnies and added the nude version of the booties I own in almost every color.

Unfortunately, this exact top has since sold out, but it's really the overall look that I'm loving! Check out some of my other favorites below…and be sure to let me know what you think!

Jumpsuit: H&M || Heels: Christian Louboutin || Clutch: Target (get identical budget versions here and here, or the real deal here) || Necklace:Capwell || Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

Ahh jumpsuits. They're not usually my outfit of choice, partly because of the whole complicated bathroom situation, but mostly because I have to make a trip to the tailor. But this one was so worth it.

In fact, I'm officially convinced that every girl needs a classic black jumpsuit in her closet. I chose this one from H&M for an event I went to last week for its versatility. From the front it's super basic so I was able to toss on a huge statement necklace. But once you turn around, it's clear that's where the party's at. I love how the open back gives it an unexpected punch of sexiness and sass.

The best part is that it can be worn year round. With a fab updo and the perfect strappy sandals it's a great piece for summer, but I'm also looking forward to tossing on a structured blazer or faux leather jacket over it during fall and winter for a change of pace.

Tuesday Temptations

Tuesday Temptations

1 || 2 || 3 || 4 || 5 || 6 || 7 || 8

A major closet purge took place this past weekend. The end result was five bags of donated clothing, one trip to Buffalo Exchange and a pile that's waiting to be Poshmarked. I love the extra room, but it doesn't take long for that feeling to creep up. You know the one I'm talking about. It's the little voice in your head convincing you that having space between your hangers isn't all it's cracked up to be. And suddenly, you're planning your next trip to Nordstrom.

For me, I was glad to be able to take stock of what I have and what I feel like I need to add to my wardrobe. In terms of basics that are able to be worn for multiple seasons, these over the knee boots are at the top of my list. They're also a dead ringer for the Stuart Weitzmans I've been eyeing since last year, but for like, $500 less. Umm yes please.

And speaking of the look for less, I yammered on and on about the Target bag from this post. Welp, I think this one might actually top it. I love the matte black alligator print and the C éline-esque shape. I promise, no one will believe you when you tell them it's from Target!

Other things on my list are a pair of faux leather pants. Not to be confused with faux leather leggings, which I also love. But I feel like I need options, you know? Especially for those cold winter days when thin leggings just won't cut it. And since I've been so thrifty with all these other finds, I can treat myself to the perfect nude lip or a super soft flannel, right? ;)
