Happy Friday + Link love

-I'm really trying to expand my horizons when it comes to my faux leather legging collection. I just ordered ones with moto detailing (so obsessed) and an olive green pair. Because who needs real pants?

-Still not sure what to be for Halloween next week? How about your favorite emoji? So brillz.

-Since becoming a mom, I've had to make more practical choices when it comes to footwear. Which is probably why I've been finding myself drawn to chunkier heels, rather than stilettos, lately -- especially in my search for new black booties. Not wanting to sacrifice height (because I'm 4'10" and need all the help I can get), this pair is topping my list. They're super basic and will go with anything, but the cutout detail around the ankle gives them a unique flair. And then there's the French Connection "Kristina." Because when doesn't gold make something better? Decisions, decisions!

-Oscar de la Renta, one of fashion's most beloved designers, passed away earlier this week and the tributes honoring his legacy have been popping up everywhere. One of my favorites is this slideshow put together by The Cut that looks at his work throughout the years.

-I've been in the habit of collecting hats this fall. Navy blue is the one color I feel my wardrobe is lacking, though, and this Rag & Bone beauty is seriously tempting.

-Still looking for a blanket scarf to wrap yourself in this fall and winter? Then you'll want to check out yesterday's post! I'm styling my favorite one from this season and rounded up 15 other affordable options in case you haven't found your perfect match yet. Or you just want an excuse to buy another ;)

Have a lovely weekend!

Plaid blanket scarf

Sweater: Zara || Jeans: American Eagle || Heels: Qupid (almost identical here -- and on sale!) || Purse: Target || Scarf: Zara (similar here, shop a ton more below) || Sunglasses: Ray-Ban || Rings: H&M (similar)

Today, I think we should all take a minute to thank Zara for setting the oversized scarf trend in motion last fall. I mean, think about it. They have single-handedly made it acceptable to wear a blanket out in public, to work, and basically anywhere other than your couch. Because, fashion.

I've been slowly building my own collection, and picked up the one I'm wearing (you can get it here in pink) earlier this season. Since then, I've seen so many other good ones, and literally have to stop myself from spending my entire paycheck on the different plaid color combos. ASOS has some of the best that I've seen -- with this one and this one being at the top of my wish list.

Have a fab day, babes!

Sweater dress

Sweater dress: Target || Boots: Forever 21 (similar color here, similar style in black here) || Purse: Michael Kors || Sunglasses: Ray-Ban || Necklace:E. Kammeyer

This outfit is pushing all kinds of personal style boundaries for me. First, I'm pretty sure I swore off sweater dresses after elementary school. They've never been my garment of choice, but I just fell in love with this one when I saw it. It's so cozy and perfect for the weather this time of year. I guess I was also looking for an excuse to wear these over the knee boots with more things.

Which brings me to my next point. There's a fine line between classy and streetwalker, and I always feel like I'm teetering on it when I wear these. Why? Probably because I'm a bit self conscious, if we're being honest. I usually play it safe and wear these boots with pants, but they immediately came to mind when I saw this dress. The rich fall neutrals blend so well together and I love that the overall look is totally different for me. I'm now on the hunt for even more sweater dresses (like this one that creates a slimming effect and this one that I would probably live in) to keep recreating this combo in different ways. Especially since these babies will be delivered soon!
